The group was founded by Benita Arterberry Burns in 2000. As a child Benita appeared on Star Search and now has an Emmy Award as well as 2 Cleo awards under her belt.

The Gospel of Light Choir is one of the pre-eminent gospel choirs in the Southwest United States. Sharing its joy of faith through their music the choir is a gathering of the most elite voices from the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex.

The Choir was founded in 2000 by Emmy award winning Benita Arterberry, who recently returned from New York City after her smashing lead role in the Broadway musical " Blind Lemon Blues."
